The Cease & Collection is one long trip down memory lane. When I was a kid growing up in Miami, I like the rest of the world - was really into Star Wars. I remember feeling crazy excitement whenever I came across a new Star Wars figurine. Star Wars is one of those memories that never seems to grow stale. Here we are 40 years later still talking about those movies. And, here I am all of these years later creating rings from the same pieces that used to be scattered all over my mother’s kitchen.
The Rolex pieces are actual molds from some of my dad’s old watches. I still have all of them in my possession, and was always enamored with their shapes and amazing lines. One day I woke up, and decided that I just had to make bracelets out of these Presidential beauts.
The Gucci Puff pieces are a classic. When hip hop really started to hit the mainstream in the late 80’s and the fliest B Boys like Erik B & Rakim and Slick Rick rocked these links on YO MTV RAPS it blew my mind. I always wanted one. One day I sat at my bench and began to craft these pieces from plastic, molded the links and cast them in bronze. The end result is pretty dope if I say so myself…
